2006年8月10号刊的RollingStone中有几张David Lachapelle拍的照片（Atheletes On the Edge '06)，特好。照片的主体是一些极限运动员。不过拍摄的地点不是在运动场地，而是（按ＲＳ的说法）in the buff and in outrageous scenarios. 其实说不在，却又在。我最喜欢的一张还是第一张：Tao Berman/White-Water Kayaker：一个淹水的房间里Tao同志穿一火炮枕着桨躺在一似浮非浮的床垫上很冷静地瞅着你。整张照片六个光源：四户窗，两盏台灯。光斑与水影交织着。

忙，却改不了睡前看点书的习惯。 也不想看专业文章，所以搞了几本“杂书”来看。一部是电子版的《神曲》，只看了几段，却已经被深深地吸引。还有一本希腊罗马神话的书，叫Bulfinch's Greek and Roman Mythology: the Age of Fable。据说是被有的中学用作教材的。书本身写得一般。话说回来，中国为什么不增加一门有趣的中国文化和神化课，搞得好，学生一定会喜欢的。还有一本是Peter Keough编的Flesh and Blood: the National Society of Film Critics on Sex, Violence, and Censorship。文章的水平也是参差不齐。Keough在一章引言里说得好"Movies no longer entertained us with what we desired but what we repressed;"这句话写在20世纪，而现在看来，也不失为妙语。

A documentary about Architect Frank Gehry and his works, Sketches of Frank Gehry is not only an 84-minute visual treat of Frank's architectures, but also  a film sketch of Frank's thoughts and artistic achievements. Obviously, the film was made with admiring eyes. Who wouldn't admire him, had they see the marvelous Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain?
